Infrastructure.
Community.
Endurance.

I'm Matt. Senior Database Administrator by trade. Community builder by choice. Husband, father of three, and dog dad of three. I live at the intersection of deep infrastructure expertise and the messy, human side of technology. The part where someone actually has to care enough to make it work.

about

SEC.01
01

The person they call at 2 AM.

As a Senior DBA, I'm Level 4 support, the last line of defense when critical SQL infrastructure goes sideways. I don't escalate problems. I am the escalation. When production databases are on fire, I'm the one who walks in, assesses the damage, and brings systems back from the brink.

That kind of pressure teaches you something no bootcamp ever will: how to stay calm when the stakes are real, communicate clearly under chaos, and build relationships with teams who need to trust you with everything.

02

Not just a technical person.

I'm the current President of a local non-profit running club. We raise money and give it back to the community via Scholarships, community parks, and the Town Parks & Recreation department.

Leading a community teaches you the same thing managing enterprise customers does: listen more than you talk, deliver on your promises, and understand that long-term relationships beat short-term wins every single time.

career

SEC.02

Two decades of keeping critical systems alive has taught me that the best engineers aren't the loudest in the room. They're the ones who stay calm, ask better questions, and ship the fix.

capabilities

01

Technical Depth

I write SQL from scratch, troubleshoot at the infrastructure level, and understand how data moves through complex systems. I don't need to phone a friend.

02

Customer Instinct

Running a non-profit taught me that people don't care about your roadmap. They care if you showed up, listened, and delivered. Same applies to enterprise customers.

03

Builder Mentality

I don't wait for permission to solve problems. I built a product from scratch because runners needed it. I'll bring that same energy to any customer relationship.

Ultrarunning is where I learned that showing up matters more than talent. The same patience that gets you through mile 80 gets you through a 3 AM production incident.

FAILURES CAN TEACH US AS MUCH AS SUCCESSES

Not every start line ends at a finish line. The lessons from a DNF stay with you longer than most podiums.
